Dynamic speaker and author, Dr. Rabbi Shnayer Leiman, an expert on development of halacha, will give a lecture entitled, Masorah and Halakhah: How and When the Torah Text We Read Today was Established.

Textual Skills
Develop the fundamentals of Torah learning by interacting with the text itself. Our introductory text-based courses offer basic Hebrew skills, an introduction to textual structures and the basics of Rashi and other essential commentaries on the Torah.

Elisha's Inheritance from Eliahu
Learn why Elisha received twice the prophetic power of Eliahu, performed twice as many miracles, and merited to see Eliahu taken away by a fiery chariot. This text-based course emphasizes Hebrew and Rashi skills, and includes the commentaries of Metzudat Zion, Radak, and Malbim among others.

Gemara Shiur, Masechet Shabbat
This year’s Gemara Shiur will focus on the 23rd perek of Masechet Shabbat, which deals with preserving the atmosphere of Shabbat rather than the technical aspects of particular melachot. Topics include preparing on Shabbat for events that will happen after Shabbat, and instructing non-Jews to do melacha on our behalf. The perek also features a variety of fascinating halachik tangents, as well as some interesting aggadita.
As always, each shiur will begin with guided havruta study, giving you the opportunity to build your independent learning skills.

This six-week seminar for mothers and bat mitzvah age daughters will explore what it means to enter the covenant as a Jewish woman. Activities include text study and chesed projects, with an emphasis on Biblical, historical, and personal female role models. Taught by Marcie Meier with specialists in music, art and dance.
